Faizabad survey report

 

 

FAIZABAD (BADAKHSHAN) ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Mission headed by:                 Eng Shoaib Sahibzada

Period Covered:                      8 up to 13 June / 2008

 

Introduction:

Badakhshan province is one of the North- Eastern provinces of Afghanistan Faizabad is the Capital of this historic province with a population of 58600 individuals and is 540 Km far from Kabul.

This province has 28 Districts and among them only Sheghnan and Baharak Districts have  Governmental Electrical Power and the remaining districts  have been energized by National Solidarity Program (NSP). 

 

Badakhshan Electrical Power Department:

This department  has been leads by Saed Abdul Basir who is the Director of the mentioned office and after him there are Technical Deputy Director (Mr Asadullah) and Administrative Deputy director (Mr Noor Ahmad).

The mentioned department has 52 person personnel including the Sheghnan and Baharak Districs personnel.

Sheehan District:

There is one Micro Hydropower Plant that has been constructed in 1986 with Capacity of 125 KW .

The usage of water of this plant is alternatively it means during the day the water is used for irrigation purpose and during the night for rotation of Turbines.

This power is plant feeding 700 consumers.

Baharak District:

According to declarations of Technical deputy director of Badakhshan this District has been energized by Imported Electrical power from Tajekistan by 35 KV Transmission line with 250 KW capacity.

This is in Extension condition according to recent agreement between Afghanistan and Tajekistan to will enhance the mentioned capacity up to 500 KW.  

Survey AIM:

To find out the number, location of poles which resist the construction work of Kishem FAizabad reod and design a new reliable rout for the Electrical system of city.

 

ACHIEVMENTS:

We surveyed 5.5Km(63 )10 Kv  and (32) 400v poles beside the road .

 Out of above figures only   (22 )10kv and (19) 400v poles to be  replace which are at the area (Right of Way) ROW at around  2.5km area and resist the construction work for the udder construction road.

Threes sources feeding the city :

1.      Micro Hydropower Plant

2.      Diesel generator of DABM

3.      Diesel generator of Private Sector

Most of consumer connected direct to Gen set 400V wit more then 1 km distributer cable or Overhead line system which cause of losses in the  system.

Electrically detail is attached in PDF attachment with (SLD)

The detail sketches of site in detail with all dimensions include in 4 A1 graph papers will help us for preparing plan for the system.
